Radisson Hotel Rio de Janeiro open in 2014

Atlantica Hotels International is scheduled to open its eight Radisson hotel in Brazil, the Radisson Hotel Rio de Janeiro, in January 2014. The hotel, located on the 11-kilometre Barra da Tijuca beach, will offer 292 rooms and suites, with amenities including a spa, gym, squash court and heated pool.
Other property facilities will include a restaurant, two bars and more than 1,100sq m of meeting space. £3.6m (US$5.5m) worth of investment will be made in the hotel over the next five years, in order to enhance it.
Thorsten Kirschke, president of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, of which the Radisson brand forms part, said: "This is a fantastic addition to the Radisson portfolio. As a business destination, Rio de Janeiro is important to the Brazilian economy, and one of the largest leisure destinations in Brazi."
