From slugging to siren eyes, these are TikTok’s biggest beauty trends
As TikTok continues to grow in popularity as a search engine, it comes as no surprise that the short form video app remains a powerful force in the beauty industry for trailblazing some of the most popular beauty trends.
New research from WeThrift has revealed this summer’s most searched for beauty trends.
1. Siren eyes
The ‘siren eyes’ trend is dominating TikTok, with thousands of videos showing how to recreate the sultry eye make-up inspired by Greek mythology.
The trend uses dark eyeliner and eyeshadow to elongate the eye shape for a sultry and sexy effect.
2. Foundation in water
An unconventional way which apparently adds moisture as well as ensuring your make-up lasts all day, creators have been putting their foundation into water before applying.
The viral hack is supposed to give a glow without adding access oil, as well as making your foundation transfer proof.
3. Graphic liner
The trend that doesn’t seem to be slowing down is graphic liner, spotted everywhere from your FYP and IG feed to red carpets and concerts.
Play with different thicknesses and colours to put your own stamp on the trend.
4. Slugging
‘Slugging’ involves slathering your face in petroleum jelly as the last step in your beauty routine.
The trend has been hailed as a miracle by users suffering from spot-prone skin and is said to improve dry and irritated skin whilst leaving an undeniable glow.
5. Bleached brows
As seen on Kendall Jenner, bleached brows are back!
If your clients want to try out this trend but are unsure about committing to bleaching their own eyebrows, then create a bleached affect by brushing concealer through the brows with a spoolie for a bleached look without the commitment.
6. Hailey Bieber nails
Bieber’s ‘glazed donut’ nails are everywhere as nail techs across the world recreate the look, which steps away from bright and bold nail art.
Bieber shared a TikTok showing exactly how to achieve the mani, which sees a neutral colour thinned with topcoat before a chrome effect powder is buffed on top.
