Student make-up artist from Guildford wins Jane Iredale competition
A make-up student from Guildford has won Jane Iredale’s 2017 College Programme Make-up Competition.
The mineral make-up brand invited student finalists chosen from more than 200 entries to visit its head office for advanced training to help each create an “animals of the earth”-themed look, before taking part in a live final.
On the judging panel was brand manager Anushka Patel, make-up artist Melissa Constantindes, and Jennifer Edwards, who heads up the brand's college programme.
Anna Lumsden from Guildford College created a peacock-inspired look. She won a Jane Iredale kit worth £1,000 for herself and another for the college to use in training.
Patel commented: “We are extremely impressed with the calibre of entries this year; the interpretations of this year’s theme has been fantastic. It’s encouraging to see so much young talent within our industry, and the student competition is a really great way for us to showcase and celebrate that talent”.
