The Hair and Beauty Charity launches to support professionals in hard times

The official charity of the hair industry has announced a change of name to incorporate the wider beauty industry, from The Hairdressers’ Charity to The Hair and Beauty Charity.

The renaming and rebranding intends to expand the charity’s visibility to include the barbering and beauty industries, both of which it had already been assisting.

“This rebrand is a natural progression for us since we became a nationally recognised charity in 2016. We have always supported those in the beauty and barbering industries and now it helps to clarify our focus,” said Samantha Grocutt, managing director of Essence PR and co-president of The Hair and Beauty Charity.

Since its 1853 inception under the name Hair and Beauty Benevolent, the charity has offered financial help to industry professionals who are in difficult times due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness, bereavement and financial hardship.

Besides making a regular donation, beauty professionals can support the charity by organising their own fundraisers or by joining annual events held by the charity, which include bike rides, golf days, dedicated fundraising weeks, charity balls and raffles.
