The Massage Company opening second site in Tunbridge Wells in September

Membership salon concept The Massage Company is launching its second centre on Monson Road, Tunbridge Wells, in September following a £500,000 investment.

The 4,000sq ft site will be open seven days a week and feature 14 treatment rooms (including one duo), with Swedish, deep tissue, sport and maternity massages on the menu.

It will employ between 20 to 30 staff and recruitment is already underway for qualified massage therapists, membership supervisors and managers.

Owner Taran Bassi is The Massage Company’s first franchisee and chose the location because it was close to the shopping centre.

Bassi been through 12 months of training in the company’s first centre in Camberley, Surrey, and signed a deal last year to open a total of three Massage Company sites in the future.

The Massage Company was launched by UK Spa Association chair and ex Virgin Active head of beauty Charlie Thompson in partnership with former Murad UK managing director Elliot Walker. 

The membership salon concept works where clients pay a fee of £44.95 per month to receive a monthly 50-minute massage, or £54.95 for a no-contract membership.
