Trainer launches first National Massage Day

The founder of massage school Essentials for Health, Gill Tree, has launched the first National Massage Day, due to take place on Friday, May 16. The day aims to promote the positive effects of massage.

“Everyone in the UK is encouraged to use simple massage techniques on a colleague, friend, or someone they care for. It’s time we understood that touch is not something to be feared – it’s to be welcomed and celebrated as an essential part of a healthy life,” Tree said.

National Massage Day will involve various events, including a planned giant conga line at Westminster Bridge with participants giving the person in front of them a gentle shoulder massage. Tree is inviting anyone unable to attend Westminster Bridge but wishing to get involved to start their own massage conga line.
