VTCT partners with NCFE to develop Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics T Level qualifications

Awarding body VTCT has announced it will be supporting NCFE – a leader in vocational and technical learning – to design and develop the T Level Technical Qualification in Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics.

As an award-winning organisation for the hair, beauty, and complimentary therapies sector, VTCT will contribute the knowledge and expertise of its technical experts and stakeholders as the specialist sub-contractor to help develop the Government’s new gold standard technical qualification for the industry.

Development on these qualifications will begin immediately, with delivery of the Hair, Beauty and Aesthetics T Level scheduled to commence in England in 2023.

T Levels signify a significant change in technical education as they’ve become one of three main choices for post-16 students, which also includes A Levels and apprenticeships. They are developed in collaboration with employers and businesses to ensure the content meets both industry needs and prepares the learner to enter the workforce.

“With our employer partners, who also helped develop this winning bid, we are really looking forward to working with learning and training providers to ensure the success of this T Level.”

David Gallagher, chief executive of NCFE, added: “We look forward to collaborating with VTCT to bring the hair and beauty qualifications to life. With our extensive knowledge on the development of T Levels, combined with their expertise and standing in the sector, we are confident that the qualifications be of the highest quality and lead learners into fantastic career opportunities.

“We will now be working closely with experts across the hair and beauty sectors to ensure that the new T Levels will equip students with the relevant skills those industries are looking for, while providing a practical and engaging approach to learning that supports students into their future careers.”
