Revealed: winners of Babtac’s Inspiring Beauty Awards 2021
Sonia Haria, Abigail Oleck Hewett and Caroline Hirons are among the beauty professionals who won at The British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology's (Babtac) Inspiring Beauty Awards 2021.
The awards, which was launched this year to celebrate professionals in the beauty industry who have shown incredible positivity and vision during the coronavirus pandemic, announced well-deserving winners in five categories.
“Life is incredibly tough for people working in beauty right now, so we’ve created these awards to applaud their strength and resilience in what has been an extremely difficult time,” said Babtac chair Lesley Blair.
“The quality of the applications was extremely high, our winners showed exceptional innovation, positivity and generosity.”
The Babtac Inspiring Beauty Awards 2021 winners are:
Charity Champion: Abigail Oleck Hewett, advanced facialist and owner of Beau-Skin London
This category recognises those who have gone all out helping – either in their local communities or for any other charitable causes during the coronavirus pandemic.
Best Business Pivot during Covid: Kate Millington, beauty pro and owner of Love Beauty Gatley
This award highlights those who have successfully changed their business direction during the pandemic to better their bottom line.
Excellent Use of Social Media and Comms during Covid: Katie White from Re:lax Skin Studio and Skin School
This award honours those who, despite the often last-minute closures of their business, have created innovative ways of communicating with their clients.
Industry Expert Supporting People Working in Beauty: Sonia Haria, beauty director at The Telegraph
This category highlights an industry expert who has excelled in revealing the plight of people working in the beauty sector and providing them with much-needed support.
Outstanding Contribution: Caroline Hirons, advanced aesthetician, author and founder of BeautyBacked.
The winner of each category received a trophy and will be promoted on Babtac’s social media channels and website and via regional press. The judging panel included both internal and independent judges to ensure objectivity.
