The St Regis hotel brand, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, is continuing its global expansion with the opening of the St Regis Abu Dhabi and the announcement of the 2014 opening of the St. Regis Istanbul.
Now open for business, the 283 room and suite St. Regis Abu Dhabi is the third St. Regis in the Middle East and the second in Abu Dhabi. The hotel spans two towers on the Abu Dhabi corniche and features the world’s highest suspended hotel suite. Amenities in the three-bedroom 1,078sq m suite – positioned 198m above ground, between the two towers – include a private spa, gym, cinema and majlis.
The 2,973sq m of leisure facilities at the hotel include two outdoor swimming pools, the Remède Spa for women and the first Hommage Gentleman’s Grooming Atelier in the UAE. The property’s eight dining venues range from Italian restaurant Villa Toscana and the St Regis Bar to Rhodes 44, the first Gary Rhodes restaurant in the UAE capital. The hotel offers 4,830sq m of meeting and events space.
Michael Wale, president for Europe, Africa & Middle East for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are thrilled to introduce the brand’s second St. Regis hotel to Abu Dhabi and proud to be part of the continued development of Abu Dhabi’s travel and tourism sector.”
Set to open in the first six months of 2014, the St. Regis Istanbul will comprise 188 guest rooms, including four suites, with a spa, gym, ballroom and meeting and events facilities also housed on the premises. Dining options at the property, which will overlook the Bosphorus, will include a rooftop restaurant and a lobby bar.
