Bovey Castle unveils spa refurbishment

Dartmoor hotel Bovey Castle, part of the Eden Hotel Collection, last week unveiled its new-look spa, the first phase of a £2m restoration project of the country house estate.

Treatment rooms and communal areas have been transformed with Art Deco inspirations to offer a ‘country retreat experience’. Décor is now black and silver throughout, with oversized showers, a Champagne Nail Room and the focal point, an open-plan waiting area with views over the countryside of Dartmoor National Park.

The spa is also now home to a new dedicated space for men among the six treatment rooms, where guys can indulge in luxury wet shaves, using products from British brand Truefitt & Hill, as well as a new range of Espa massages and body treatments. There are also new Espa treatments for women, including facials, massages, waxing and holistic treatments.

Mark Chambers, managing director of the Eden Hotel Collection, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with what we have achieved with our spa at Bovey Castle, which has a lovely synergy with the rest of the refurbishment throughout the hotel. Our new partnership with ESPA is a great addition to our offering, as is the male-focused section, which is a fast-growing market. Early feedback from guests has been hugely positive!”

Bovey Castle’s restaurant, bistro and public rooms have also been completed at this stage of the refurbishments. The next stage of the programme involves the renovation of the bedrooms and bathrooms in the main house and country lodges.
