Non-surgical procedures boosts growth in cosmetic sector in 2013
Desire to look younger drove the number of cosmetic procedures carried out in the UK up by 7.3% in 2013, with non-surgical procedures dominating the market, according to market intelligence from research company Key Note.
According to the report, titled Cosmetic Surgery, non-surgical cosmetic procedures accounted for 84.3% of the total procedures performed last year, with some 30% of respondents saying they were put off by the potential pain or scarring involved in cosmetic surgery.
The report also forecast a positive future for the cosmetic sector, predicting 6% growth for 2014 and 5.8% for 2015. Respondents expressed interest in non-surgical procedures such as Botox and laser facial rejuvenation for the coming year.
