Serenity and Rose Quartz named Pantone colours of 2016
The hottest colours for 2016 will be Serenity and Rose Quartz, according to colour systems provider Pantone, which named the contrasting pale shades its colours of the year for 2016.
This is the first time the colour institute has chosen a pair of complementary shades; pale blue-lilac Serenity and powder pink Rose Quartz. The shades are predicted to feature heavily across beauty, fashion and lifestyle products next year, suggesting salons should stock up on nail polish and make-up in these subtle shades.
For the past three years Pantone has collaborated with US beauty retailer Sephora to create make-up products in the colour of the year. For the partnership’s fourth year, the Sephora + Pantone Universe Colour of the Year 2016 collection features lip, cheek, eye and nail products in the key shades, along with other harmonising neon and pastel shades.
