The Lygon Arms Hotel in the Costwolds has opened the doors to its new luxury spa following a multimillion-pound refurbishment.

The newly laid out Lygon Spa, done at the same time as a full refurbishment of the hotel, includes seven treatment rooms that are equipped with bespoke fitted furniture, a manicure and pedicure studio, 13-metre indoor pool with retractable roof and vitality spa, and a Technogym fitted fitness suite.

There are also new male and female changing rooms which include sauna experiences, a Spa Kitchen & Juice Bar, and Spa Lounge with roof top terrace.

Spa consultancy Spa Creators was selected to create the concept and internal layout to help position the business as a luxury spa.

It has been working with the team from concept design through to delivery of the scheme with the main contractor Dimension, Chandler KBS Project Director and Tyak architects.

Alistair Johnson, founder and managing director of Spa Creators, said: “This project has been challenging – working with an old building and a delivery target of less than three months.

“The project team have delivered a fantastic facility and one which will become award-winning… and the spa of choice for visitors to the Cotswolds.”

The Lygon Arm's general manager, Graeme Nesbitt, said: “It is with great pleasure that we debut the final phase of this monumental refurbishment of The Lygon Arms, that unveils an exciting new chapter in the property’s grand history.”

Last year, Spa Creators opened the UK’s first Spashell eco-modular spa in Ludlow, Shropshire, and plan to launch a Gymshell concept soon.
