Soho Farmhouse and Chewton Glen among top 10 eco-friendly staycations

Research from Savoy Stewart has revealed the UK’s most eco-friendly staycations for this summer, as it has been revealed 87% of global travellers say they want to travel sustainably.

Soho Farmouse, the Soho House group’s Oxfordshire country escape, came top of the list with an average of 40,500 searches each month.

A favourite with the Beckhams, and reportedly the location of Meghan Markle’s hen party, amenities and activities include clay pigeon shooting, boating, horse riding and guests can head to the Health Club for a facial with resident Lisa Franklin.

Hampshire’s Chewton Glen placed second, totalling 40,000 monthly searches. Set in 130 acres of countryside, guests can enjoy the spa facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, or take part in a cookery class with James Martin. The estate has eco-treehouses, home-grown vegetables, and wildlife habitats.

For a coastal escape look no further than Watergate Lodge, Cornwall, which came third in the ranking with 27,000 monthly searches. With air-source heating and solar panels, the private accommodation can sleep up to 12 and is just 400 metres from the beach.
