Professional Beauty North returns to Manchester Central
A diverse exhibitor lineup and an extensive seminar programme are on the agenda at Professional Beauty North in Manchester next weekend.
The UK trade show, taking place at the Manchester Central exhibition centre on September 20-21, includes the two-day Professional Spa & Wellness North conference. Among the topics covered at the spa conference are corporate wellness, social media, treating cancer patients and the making of a great spa manager.
Colin Farndon, spa director at Armathwaite Hall Country House Hotel and Spa, will speak on the topic of Corporate Wellness Programmes On The Rise – How To Turn This Trend Into a Growth Opportunity For Your Spa on Sunday September 20. The Sunday conference programme also includes the Managing Online Reviews To Grow Your Reputation session with Madeleine Raynel, head of supply at Wahanda.
Sessions on Monday September 21 include Treating Cancer Patients in Spas – What Role Can Spas Play In Improving Cancer patients’ life? with Sue Davis, naturopath at Lifehouse Spa & Hotel, and the Social Media Strategies To Retain And Grow Your Existing Customer base panel debate.
The panel will feature Deborah Mitchell, founder of Heaven Skincare; Marion Hayden, spa manager at Oceo Spa at Seafield Golf & Spa Hotel; Davina Hassell, spa director of Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall and Angie Petkovic, managing director of Apt Marketing & PR
Other seminar programmes at the event, which annually attracts around 19,000 visitors, include the inaugural Holistic programme, organised in association with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
The education offering also comprises the Business, Salon and Nail Skills programmes, as well as ‘How to’ workshops on everything from tanning to contouring and beauty, makeup and advanced treatments live stages.
Exhibitors span the spa and beauty industries, covering skincare, machines, nails, supplies and equipment and makeup, to mention just a few. Among the brands exhibiting this year are Elemis, Sothys, Heaven, Caci, Essie, OPI, Advanced Esthetics Solutions and distributor iiaa with brands Environ, Jane Iredale and Advanced Nutrition Programme.
The show also features the North Nail Championships and the Warpaint Make-up Competition, honouring some of the best nail techs and makeup artists in the country.

Tickets for Professional Spa & Wellness North are £34.50 + VAT for one day and £49.50 + VAT for both days, including lunch and refreshments. For those attending on Sunday, the evening networking party with cocktails and a buffet is also included. Tickets for the Holistic programme sessions are £5/session.
