Sheila McCann to head up new UK spa projects for Lanserhof Group

Leading spa industry figurehead Sheila McCann is leaving her post as general manager for Thailand’s Chiva-Som spa to join health and medical resort specialists Lanserhof UK.

McCann is moving to the UK to head up two sites that form part of the Lanserhof Group’s ever-expanding portfolio.

One location will be an urban health centre in the heart of London, due to open at the end of the year, and the other will see McCann oversee destination health spa Grayshott Health Spa in Surrey as general manager.

Lanserhof acquired Grayshott last August, drawn to the property because of its reputation for health-based wellness programmes. Lanserhof plan to refurbish the spa and focus on its medical wellness offering. 

McCann has more than 35 years’ industry experience and has worked for leading spa brands including Chiva-Som and Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts. She is also a founding member of the International Health and Wellness Alliance. 

Austria-based Lanserhof is famed as a spa-style medical institution based on the Lans Med concept of naturopathy and modern medicine. It has properties in Lans, Austria, and Hamburg and Tegernsee in Germany.
