Speaker in the Spotlight: Colin Farndon
Colin Farndon, Spa Director of Armathwaite Hall Country House Hotel and Spa, is one of the speakers of the Professional Spa & Wellness conference, taking place as part of Professional Beauty North on 20-21 September at Manchester Central. Colin will be talking about how to expand your spa offering through corporate wellness programmes and he answered a few questions for us about this topic.
> Why have you decided to talk about this topic?
– At the Spa at Armathwaite Hall we have had a strong focus on our wellness offer for a number of years, and now with a platform of success we feel it is time to extend the offer into the corporate market. There are significant and valid benefits for employers who invest in their teams' health and wellness and this relationship promotes a strong take up role.
>What special packages can spas offer to their corporate wellness clients?
– There is no one size fits all approach, just as with individual wellness but the range of offers is significant encompassing wellness consultations, incentive and reward programmes, return to work plans, team building and day retreats.
>What tips do you have for attracting corporate clients?
– Do your homework on local companies, and wherever possible, make a personal and direct approach rather than relying on blanker marketing. Targeted email campaigns can generate outline interest but a well-researched approach and understanding of the key benefits is essential.
> What are some of the key trends you are noticing in the spa industry?
– Wellness tech continues to grow, as does wellness generally. We are also seeing an increased interest in learning opportunities and our workshops have never been better attended or more interactive. Group spa business is a very strong revenue growth trend.
