Berkeley Health Club & Spa to host rooftop hula hooping classes

The Berkeley Health Club & Spa is introducing outdoor hula hooping classes this summer, on the rooftop of the Berkeley hotel in London.

Held in collaboration with hula hoop fitness company HulaFit, the weekly one-hour classes run from June 17 to October 28. Taking place every Wednesday, they will be open both to hotel guests and outside participants.

The classes, said to burn up to 600 calories an hour, will teach a range of different hula hooping styles, from Waist Hooping, Turning & Pirouettes and The Limbo, to The Vortex, Body Wraps and Booty Bump.

Described as challenging and high intensity and focusing on the adnominal muscles and building core strength, the HulaFit classes aim to make fitness fun.

HulaFit founder Anna Bryne said: “Hooping is a question of muscle memory and as agility and strength develop, guests can return time and time again to perfect their routine and their curves.”
