Spa on the Breck opens at the YMCA Poulton Health and Fitness Centre in Lancashire
A high-end spa has opened at the YMCA Poulton Health and Fitness Centre in Poulton-le-Fylde in Lancashire in the UK.
Spa on the Breck, located in the Wyre Council-run health and fitness centre, was designed by sauna and steam room manufacturer Dalesauna, working on behalf of contractor ISG.
The spa features an extensive thermal area that includes a steam room, a pine sauna, a salt room, an aromatherapy room, a 3-metre pool, an ice fountain, two monsoon showers and heated benches.
The spa has predominately been designed with warm, earthy tones and materials. However, brighter colours, including white, blue and grey, have been used for features with more intense temperatures, including the ice fountain, the steam room and the salt room.
Options on the menu include the Spa Journey, priced at £15 and offering two-hour use of the facilities.
Treatments include a range of massages, facials, body wraps and exfoliations, as well as treatments for teens and for expectant mothers. There is also a separate treatment menu for male clients.
Gerard McCarthy, sales director at DaleSauna: “We are delighted to have worked with ISG and Wyre Council on this prestigious project.
"This development is part of a growing trend amongst local authority and trust operators, who are broadening their health and fitness services to provide a wider wellness offering, which has a much broader appeal across the age ranges."
Dalesauna has also worked on the expansion of spa and leisure facilities for a range of other local authorities across the UK, including the Ramsgate, Wimbledon, Westminster Lodge and The Lagoon leisure centres.
